Memorize The Bible
To memorize the bible is not impossible but it takes special effort and skill. A good start is to memorize bible verses. As a child, memorization is the most common form of learning used. It seems elementary, but have you noticed how children have the easiest ability to memorize almost anything. They learn so quickly. That’s why it’s important what they hear. One child could recite the entire script to the movie, “Save the Last Dance.”
As we get older, it is not so easy to memorize things. Perhaps it is because we have so much on our minds. As a Christian, our lifeline is the bible. Faith comes by hearing. Even as an adult, what we hear is important. We get bombarded with life and we hear what we get bombarded with. If we are not careful, our faith gets developed in the negative stuff we hear. What if we could hear bible verses on a regular basis? What if we repeated or talked about the bible verses we heard on a regular basis? What if we made a conscious effort to do those things that would cause us to memorize the bible or even chapters of the bible? It would be effortless. When you develop a habit, you don’t have to think about it. Most people don’t realize when they are acting out of habit.
If you want to develop spiritually, it wouldn’t be a bad idea to start by memorizing bible verses and to memorize them by topic. Find a subject and then locate as many scriptures as possible on that subject. It makes the effort much easier.
